Silk and Spice, Trains and Tyranny - our journey was a magical alternative to flying! We traveled 12,000 km on our Silk Road, mostly railway, journey from Beijing to Istanbul and a further 3000 km on the final leg of our journey to Scortland (yes, this was all about getting to Scotland the most enjoyable possible way!) traveling on our quasi 'Orient Express' from Istanbel to Paris. Beats flying!

Next stop Edinburgh and the start of an expedirion to the wild Scottish islands and beyond. We’ll be out of communication for the next couple of weeks, but will catch up when we can from Scotland sometime next month ....
