August 5-17 VIII Greenland flowers

Before I take you into Iceland are you ready for a few more flowers? OK. We saw quite a few that we’d seen in Svalbard so I haven’t included those except for the willow which seems to have a number of difference species and has fascinated and confused me. It’s a pretty fabulous place.

Cotton grass

Dwarf fireweed - the National flower

Purple bladder campion

Snow buttercup

Seashore chamomile

Arctic bell heather

Arctic poppy

Dandelion

Yellow mountain saxifrage

Alpine biswort

Rosewort

Arctic dwarf willow

Arctic willow grows larger on Greenland than in Svalbard

This is an Arctic birch

Alpine black bear berry

Bilberry or cowberry

An Eider's nest. It truly is extremely soft. These were scattered near the beach in one of the fjords

Delicate
