This whole area really is mind boggling. Can you imagine what it must look like from a kayak! Rather intimidating I imagine but so spectacular.

These GT stripes of aqua tell you that this iceberg has tipped about 90 degrees. The colour indicates periods of dense snow compaction in the formation of the glacier that gave birth to this iceberg.
Here the colour blue indicates frozen melt water
We went quite close, precariously close in fact. Any minute monsters like this can calve creating mini tsunamis and showers of ice shards. Scarier still is the chance of the whole thing tilting or even turning over completely.
Those vertical runnels are caused by melt water.
This mushroom shaped berg must have a humongous base to stop it toppling. Remember Archimedes!
